1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using the KrayBet mobile application and related services (the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service.

KrayBet reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will notify users of any material changes by posting the updated Terms within the app or on our website. Your continued use of the Service after such modifications constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

2. Description of Service

KrayBet (ክራይቤት) is a mobile platform that connects property owners (landlords) with individuals seeking rental properties (renters) in Ethiopia. The Service allows users to:

  • Browse and search for rental property listings
  • Create and publish property listings
  • Save favorite properties
  • Contact landlords directly about properties
  • View property locations on maps

KrayBet acts solely as a platform to facilitate connections between landlords and renters. We do not own, manage, or control any properties listed on the platform.

3. User Accounts

3.1 Registration

To use certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information as necessary.

3.2 Account Security

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account.

3.3 Account Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old to create an account and use the Service. By using KrayBet, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.

4. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post false, misleading, or fraudulent property listings
  • Impersonate any person or entity
  • Upload content that is illegal, harmful, or violates the rights of others
  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose
  • Harass, abuse, or harm other users
  • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any part of the Service
  • Use automated systems or software to extract data from the Service
  • Interfere with or disrupt the Service or servers
  • Post spam, chain letters, or pyramid schemes
  • Collect or store personal data about other users without their consent

5. Property Listings

5.1 Listing Requirements

Landlords who post property listings must ensure that:

  • They have the legal right to rent or sublease the property
  • All information in the listing is accurate and truthful
  • Photos accurately represent the property
  • The listing complies with all applicable laws and regulations

5.2 Content Review

KrayBet reserves the right to review, approve, or reject any listing at our discretion. We may remove listings that violate these Terms or our community guidelines without notice.

5.3 No Guarantee

KrayBet does not guarantee the accuracy of any listing information and is not responsible for the quality, safety, or legality of properties listed on the platform.

6. Transactions Between Users

KrayBet is a platform that facilitates connections between landlords and renters. We are not a party to any rental agreement or transaction between users. Users are solely responsible for:

  • Verifying the identity of other parties
  • Inspecting properties before entering into agreements
  • Negotiating and executing rental agreements
  • Handling all payments and deposits
  • Resolving any disputes that arise

7. Intellectual Property

7.1 Our Content

The Service and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by KrayBet and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

7.2 User Content

By posting content to the Service, you grant KrayBet a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute such content in connection with the Service. You retain ownership of your content.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED. KRAYBET DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, SECURE, OR ERROR-FREE.

KRAYBET DOES NOT WARRANT THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, OR USEFULNESS OF ANY INFORMATION ON THE SERVICE, INCLUDING PROPERTY LISTINGS. WE ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DECISIONS MADE BASED ON INFORMATION OBTAINED THROUGH THE SERVICE.

9. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, KRAYBET SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Loss of profits, data, or goodwill
  • Service interruption or computer damage
  • The conduct of other users on the platform
  • Any issues arising from rental transactions
  • Property conditions or disputes

10. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless KrayBet, its officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your violation of any rights of another party.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account and access to the Service immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason, including if you breach these Terms.

You may also terminate your account at any time by using the account deletion feature in the app or by contacting us. Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease.

12. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.

13. Dispute Resolution

Any disputes arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good-faith negotiation. If negotiation is unsuccessful, disputes shall be resolved through arbitration in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

14. Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
